Project Lifecycle

Embarking on an app project can be an exciting endeavor, but it's essential to navigate the process systematically. The project lifecycle comprises four main stages that guide you from concept to a fully functional app. Let's explore these stages in detail:

The project lifecycle has 4 main stages:

Stage

Goals

1. Content Creation/Sourcing

This initial phase involves gathering and preparing the content that will populate your app. If your project includes existing tours and content, this stage will typically entail:

  • Assembling a Script / Outline / Flowchart version of the tour content and review it for accuracy.
  • Collecting and sourcing high-quality images for upload. We suggest at least one image per stop.
  • Sourcing any audio files/tracks that may be added to the tour.
  • Creating any app graphics including the app icon, loading image, branding images, and color choices.

During this phase, it's crucial to apply for an Apple Developer account and a Google Play account if you plan to publish a branded native app. Early setup helps prevent last-minute hurdles.

2. Content Uploading and Testing

Once the content has been created and sourced it is ready for uploading (note that this may happen in parallel). Content is uploaded via our web-based app builder either by you, the customer, or by our STQRY team. Images and audio can be uploaded at full resolution as the system will take care of any resizing for each device.

This is also a great time to consider creating a test app version. This invaluable tool allows you to review and validate your content as it integrates seamlessly into our system. Feel free to reach out to us if you'd like to request a test app through our STQRY Preview app.

3. App Submission

Once the content has been uploaded and readied the STQRY team takes care of the submission process. Before we initiate the app submission, we'll provide you with a comprehensive checklist.

Keep in mind that app submission timelines can vary. To ensure a stress-free experience, allocate around two weeks, allowing for Apple's review period, which can span from one day to a couple of weeks.

4. Ongoing Maintenance

Once your app goes live, it enters the maintenance phase. You can continue to refine and expand your app's content using our user-friendly web-based tour builder. Content for the app can be added and updated using our web-based tour builder.

Throughout this period, STQRY might periodically initiate app updates. These updates could encompass bug fixes, improvements in performance, and the introduction of new features. To ensure a smooth update process, please ensure that your Apple developer account membership is renewed annually and there are no pending agreements on your Apple developer account.

Our goal is to provide at least one update per year, ensuring that your app remains up-to-date and optimized for the best user experience.
