Understanding Publishing Mode in STQRY

By default, any change you make in the Builder goes live on your app right away. That works well for quick fixes, but it's not ideal if you're in the middle of a bigger update — like adding new tours, redesigning a section, or preparing content for a launch — because visitors could see unfinished work.

Publishing Mode separates your work in progress from what's live. Think of it like a draft: you can edit freely, and nothing changes for your audience until an account admin chooses to publish.

Once enabled:

• Your live app stays on the last published version. Visitors keep seeing that version no matter what you change in the Builder.
• Your edits are visible instantly in STQRY Preview or your project's demo link.
• Nothing reaches the live app until an account admin presses Publish.

When Is It Useful?

Publishing Mode is especially helpful when you're preparing content ahead of a launch date, doing a larger revamp of your app, or simply want the freedom to experiment without visitors seeing half-finished work.

If you only need to hide a few individual tours rather than freeze the whole app, you can also lock specific content with an access code and remove the lock when you're ready.

How to Enable Publishing Mode

1. Contact your Customer Success Manager or email support@stqry.com to request Publishing Mode for your project.

2. Our team will prepare and release a new app update for your project with Publishing Mode enabled.

3. Once the app update is live, Publishing Mode is active and you can start using it as described below.

How to Use Publishing Mode

1. Set your starting point. Get your app looking the way you want the public to see it, then hit Publish. This becomes your live version. You can find the Publish button under Project Overview in STQRY Builder.

2. Make your changes. Add new content, screens, or edits as normal in the Builder.

3. Preview your work. Open the demo link or STQRY Preview app to see your changes in real time. Your live app won't show any of this yet.

4. Go live. Once everything looks right in the preview, an account admin clicks Publish under Project Overview. All changes roll out to the live app at once.

Only account admins can publish changes to the live app. Other team members can make edits in the Builder, but the Publish button is only available to admins.

Good to Know

• Publishing Mode applies per project. If you manage multiple projects, it needs to be enabled on each one individually.
• Nothing goes live automatically. You control exactly when updates reach your audience by clicking Publish.
• Always preview before publishing. Check your demo link or STQRY Preview app to confirm your changes look right — that's the only place unpublished edits appear.
