Understanding Tour Grades

Created by Glen Barnes, Modified on Fri, 2 Feb at 3:28 AM by Natalie Nguyen

When creating and describing walking tours in your app, you can categorize them based on their difficulty level using the Australian walking track grading system. This helps users choose the tours that suit their abilities and preferences. The grading system classifies walking trails into five grades, from Grade One to Grade Five, each catering to different skill and experience levels.

  • Grade One is suitable for people with a disability with assistance
  • Grade Two is suitable for families with young children
  • Grade Three is recommended for people with some hiking experience
  • Grade Four is recommended for experienced hikers
  • Grade Five is recommended for very experienced hikers.

If you prefer not to display an indication of the grade in your tour you can select Unspecified.

These grades are displayed in your app's tour overview and also have an icon indicative of the grade.

In the STQRY Builder, you can access and set the grade for your walking tours on the Tour Overview page. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to do it:

  1. Log In: Start by logging in to your STQRY account.

  2. Go to Tour Overview: under Content, choose an available tour or create a new one.
  3. Set Tour Type: In the "Tour Type" section, select "Walking."
  4. Choose the Grade: Once you've selected "Walking," a menu will appear with the grade options. You can choose from "Grade One," "Grade Two," "Grade Three," "Grade Four," "Grade Five," or "Not Specified" based on the difficulty level of your tour.

  5. Save Your Changes: After selecting the appropriate grade, remember to save your changes by clicking on the "Save" button at the bottom of the page.

  6. Preview and Publish: This change does not require a new app build. Users will see the updates upon their first download. For existing app users, they will need to update the app to view the changes.
