This article is for the new STQRY Builder (Beta). Using the current STQRY Builder? See Media instead.
You can upload eight types of media to the media library in STQRY Builder. The type decides which files you can add and which details you can fill in.
Step 1: Choose a media type
In Content Library > Media, click Upload media. Under Choose media type, click Add on the type you want.

| Type | Use it for | Accepts |
|---|---|---|
| Image | Photos and graphics | JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, HEIC, TIFF and other common formats |
| Video | Video files | MP4, WebM and other common formats |
| Web video | A video hosted on YouTube or Vimeo | A YouTube or Vimeo link |
| AR | 3D models viewed in augmented reality | Reality, GLB and USDZ files |
| Audio | Narration, music and sound effects | MP3, M4A, WAV and other common formats, text for Studio Voice, or a link to an audio file |
| Animation | Animated images | GIF, APNG and animated WebP |
| Zip package | A folder of files, compressed | ZIP |
| Data file | Data for STQRY Kiosk | CSV, XML and JSON |
Step 2: Add the file
Drag the file onto the upload area, or click choose from your computer. The upload area lists every format that type accepts. You can upload one file at a time.

A new image. The section list on the left jumps to each field.
Builder uses the file name as the item's name. Change it to something you'll recognise when you search for it later.
A few types work differently:
- Web video: paste the link into Video URL. A preview appears below so you can check it's the right video. If the link starts partway through the video, the start time is kept.
- Audio: as well as uploading a file, you can type a script on the Studio Voice tab, or link to audio hosted elsewhere on the External file tab. See Create audio with Studio Voice.
- AR: add a Reality file, a GLB file or a USDZ file. At least one is required. Add USDZ or Reality for iPhone and iPad, and GLB for Android.
Step 3: Add details and save
Add any tags and details for the type, such as a caption for an image. Click Save to keep editing, or Save & Close to finish. Edit media details explains each field.
Once it's saved, the item is in your media library, ready to add to a screen.
Behaviour notes
- When you add media to a screen, the upload area also has a Library button. Use it to pick something already in your media library rather than uploading it again.
- A map image in TIFF format works best as an 8-bit TIFF. Builder warns you if you upload a 16-bit one.
Next steps
- Edit media details: captions, transcriptions and a focal point.
- Find and manage media in the media library: search, tags and deleting media.
