Understanding App Branding

App branding helps you create a consistent visual identity across your STQRY app. This article outlines the branding elements you can manage, including text, themes, and visual assets.

Unless stated otherwise, the settings described below apply across both mobile and web apps.

1. Look and Feel of Your App

STQRY uses IBM Plex Sans as the default font across the app.

This font was selected for its strong readability and broad language support, including:

  • Left-to-right (LTR) and right-to-left (RTL) languages
  • Japanese and other non-Latin scripts

Using a system-wide font ensures a consistent experience for users across different devices and languages.

2. Managing Brand Colors

You can manage your app’s brand colors by navigating to ProjectsSelect your appBranding. From there, you can customize the background color and background image, body text color, tab bar and tab bar content, header or navigation bar background, and button background color. These settings help maintain a consistent visual identity across your app.

Custom themes are not fully supported yet across all platforms. Currently, a selection of themes is available for web versions of the app. If you are interested in using a custom theme or learning more about upcoming theming options, please contact your Customer Success Manager.

3. App Logo and Visual Assets

STQRY allows you to upload and manage several visual assets that define your app’s branding across platforms and stores.

App Logo

  • Required size: 1024 × 1024 px
  • Format: Square image (PNG or JPG recommended)

This logo is used as the primary app icon and may be resized automatically for different devices and platforms.

App Loading Image

The loading image will show up after you open your app, 1-2 seconds before the app is really downloaded and ready to use. We will center and scale it. For better design, we suggest using an image with a transparent background, and we will match the background color with the bar title color. You can view an example of this approach at https://stqry.app/projects/3449.

Best practices:

  • Required size: 1024px by 1024px
  • Keep the design simple and centered
  • Avoid small text or detailed graphics
  • Use high contrast for better visibility

Google Feature Graphic

The feature graphic serves as the cover image for your preview video, if one is provided. For apps, it will appear in a prominent format on Google Play. Use graphics that convey app experiences, and highlight the core value proposition, relevant context, or story-telling elements if needed.

Recommended guidelines:

  • Required size: 1024 px by 500 px
  • Landscape orientation
  • No critical content near the edges (may be cropped on some devices)

General Promo Graphic

This logo is displayed in the STQRY App Directorywhere users can browse and discover apps.

Best practices:

  • Recommended dimensions: 768x432 px
  • Use a clean, recognizable version of your logo
  • Avoid text-heavy designs
Some interface elements are system-controlled and cannot be customized at this time.
Visual assets may be resized or cropped automatically depending on platform requirements.
Only users with the Admin role can manage branding settings.
