The Guide Mode feature allows a tour guide to control visitor devices, creating a synchronized and engaging tour experience. Follow the steps below to get started:
Getting your content ready for Guide Mode
- Visit https://builder.stqry.com to log in to your STQRY Builder account.
- Make sure all the content you wish to trigger is properly uploaded and arranged within a tour.
- Go to the Tour Map section to proceed with the setup.
- Click the pencil icon next to the marker you want to edit.
- Enter the coordinates or locate the marker on the map.
- Under the Geofencing section, choose Beacon.
- Complete the beacon details as follows:
- UUID: Add a UUID that you will use across all stops. You can use the Online UUID Generator for this. Example UUDI
174c45d1-7b01-483a-ad3d-e0069b66235c
- Minor: Minor values help uniquely identify individual beacons and are typically assigned based on stop numbers. Each stop should have a unique minor number.
- Major: Major values distinguish groups of beacons. For single-location organizations, use the same major number across all stops.
How Does It Work?
Step 1: Download the STQRY Fleet App
Download the STQRY Fleet app from either Google Play or the Apple App Store.
Once the app is installed, scan the QR code provided by your Customer Success Manager to activate the app.
Step 2: Designate Devices
Step 3: Activate Guide Mode on the Tour Guide Device
Open the app on the "Tour Guide Device".
Navigate to Settings.
Toggle on Guide Mode to activate the feature.
A keypad will appear, prompting you to enter the Guide Number you want to assign to your tour group.
Step 4: Assign different Guide Numbers for different tour groups (Optional)
Inform your Customer Success Manager if you have multiple tour guides (or tour groups) running the same tour simultaneously and wish to assign different Guide Numbers for each tour group.
If you're managing only one tour group, you can skip this step. In this case, the Guide Number assigned in Step 3 of this article will need to be entered on the visitor's device.
Step 5: Start the Tour
Navigate to the tour location.
On both the Tour Guide Device and Visitor Device, tap Start Tour.
Enter the same Guide Number on both devices to link them together.
Step 6: Grant Necessary Permissions
Step 7: Control the Tour
The Tour Guide Device can have either full or partial control over the Visitor Device's audio autoplay. With partial control, the Visitor Device retains the ability to play or pause the audio as needed.
