As part of our commitment to data privacy and compliance, we're thrilled to introduce a new feature that allows you to choose the region where your app content is stored. This option provides enhanced data sovereignty and privacy control, ensuring that your data resides in a location that aligns with your regulatory requirements and preferences.
This feature allows you to select your preferred region for storing app data. You'll soon have the freedom to choose from:
- United States
- Canada
- European Union
- Australia
- Singapore
- US GovCloud (exclusive to US Government departments)
FAQ:
1. When will this feature be available?
This feature will be available for new account sign-ups starting July 25th, 2024.
2. Where can I choose to store my app content?
During the account registration process, you'll be prompted to choose your content storage region.
3. What happens if I don't specify a data hosting country?
Selecting a hosting country for your app content is mandatory. The default country is the United States. If you opt not to manage this information, it will simply default to the United States.
4. Can I change the hosting country after selecting one during signup?
No, the chosen hosting country cannot be changed once selected. At this stage, we do not offer a migration from one region to another. You can, however, create a new account (under Manage Accounts) once you have logged in.
5. I'm an existing customer who signed up before quarter 3 of 2024. Will this change apply to me?
No, this change only affects new users, however, if you create a new account (under Manage Accounts) you can select a new region for the new account.
6. If my colleague and I choose different countries to store data, where will the content be stored when we work on one app together?
The app content will be stored according to the region chosen for the account. Individual user preferences do not impact the storage location. For instance, if one user selects the United States and another selects Canada, and they collaborate on an account storing data in the United States, the data will be stored in the United States.
7. My organization has one main account and multiple child accounts with STQRY. Where will the data be stored?
The data will be stored according to the chosen country of the main (parent) account.
