There are two types of updates in STQRY Signage: content updates (changes you make in STQRY Builder) and app updates (new versions of the Signage app itself).
They work differently, so it helps to understand how each one reaches your displays.
Content updates
Content changes you make in Builder automatically reach your displays. A running display checks for updates every 5 minutes, so your changes will appear on screen shortly after you save.
Need your changes to appear sooner? You can manually reload the display: tap 5 times on the bottom-right corner of the screen to open the settings overlay, enter your PIN, then choose Reload Display.

Tap the bottom-right corner five times to open the settings overlay, then choose Reload Display.
Tip: From the same settings overlay, you can also check the app version under Diagnostics.
App updates
App updates
The Signage app on Fire TV, Android, Windows, iPad, and Mac updates through its respective app store — not directly from STQRY. If your device has auto-update enabled, it will pick up new versions automatically. Otherwise, you can update manually from the app's store page.
The browser version is the exception — opening signage-ng.stqry.com always loads the latest release.
Working offline
Once a display has loaded its content, it keeps playing without a network connection. All media files are cached on the device and don't expire — a stale sign beats a dark one.
If a display record is deleted in Builder or the project is removed, the display will stop playing on its next check and show a message that the activation key no longer exists.
While offline, Reload Display and Check for updates won't be able to fetch new content — the screen will let you know if this is the case.Next steps
- Open the on-device settings overlay — where Reload display lives.
- Display status: what the badges mean — how to tell from Builder whether a screen is online.
