Providing physical location context to your app's content can greatly enhance the visitor's experience. On STQRY, you have two options to achieve this - you can either locate a screen's marker on the tour map or list map, or add a location section to every screen. In this help article, we will guide you through the process of adding a location section, allowing you to enrich your storytelling and provide users with valuable context and relevance.

Step 1: Accessing the Location Section

  1. Go to the "Content" section of your app's dashboard.
  2. Navigate to the "Screens" tab and click on the desired screen you want to edit.
  3. Scroll down to the Screen Items area then Click on "New Section" then "Location Section" from the available options.

Step 2: Choose the Location Map Type

Select either "Single Location Map" or "Multiple Location Map" based on your content requirements.

"Single location map": This option is ideal for showcasing the physical address of one single location.

To add a Single Location Map in STQRY:

  1. Click on the “Add" box next to Single Location.
  2. Optionally, fill in the “Title" for the location (if needed).
  3. Locate the marker on the map
    1. Move the cursor to the box on the top right corner (symbol ?) to search for the place name. Choose the desired location from the search results. The display address and coordinates will be automatically updated on the left side.
    2. If you have the coordinates information of the place, you can manually add them to the Latitude & Longitude fields and then provide the Display Address.

"Multiple location map": With this option, you can add as many locations as you want to the map.

To add a Multiple Location Map in STQRY:

  1. Click on the “Add" box next to Multiple Locations.
  2. Choose "Add New Point" to start adding a new location.
  3. Select the specific content you want to link to, such as a Screen, List, Tour, Website, Phone, Email, Social Link,     or Media Item within your app.
  4. Locate the marker on the map
    • Move the cursor to the box on the top right corner (symbol ?) to search for the place name. Choose the desired location from the search results to automatically fill in the coordinates on the left side.
    • If you have the coordinates information of the place, you can manually add them to the Latitude & Longitude fields and then provide the Link Text.

  5. Click on "Add New Point" on the top to add the next hotspots using the same process.

Optionally, you can customize the pin marker's appearance:

  1. Choose a different icon for the pin marker.
  2. Change the color of the pin marker on the map.
  3. You can enhance the map by adding polylines to provide additional context or navigation cues (only available on the Multiple location map)

Step 3: Save Your Changes

After adding the location section and selecting the map type, click on "Save" or "Save & Close" to save your changes.

Step 4: Check for Updated Content

To view the change in the app, go to "App Settings" and hit "Check for updated content". Once finished, go back to the screen you edited to see the location section added with the map reflecting the chosen location type.

By following these steps, you can seamlessly add location sections to your screens. If you have any further questions or need assistance, don't hesitate to reach out to our support team. Happy mapping!
