Creating App store badges

Both Apple and Google allow you to create badges for your app. You can then insert these badges on your website which gives your users an easy way to download the app.

Google Play Store

  • Go to the Google Play Badge Generator
  • Enter the package name for your app. The package name can be found under the Submissions tab for your app in the app builder. It is the part after the id= section on the url:

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mytoursapp.android.app57

  • Select the badge you would like to use and copy the html. You can then use this in your web page.

For exmaple, this badge links to the Walk Auckland App on the Google Play Store:

Apple App Store

  • Go to the Apple Link Maker
  • Search for your app name
  • Select the badge you would like to use and copy the html. You can then use this in your web page.
